We have the capability to arrange offshore mortgages for clients who meet certain criteria; however this is a very complex area and consequently we recommend that you seek independent tax advice prior to considering this option.
If you do not have an independent tax adviser, we would be happy to recommend one.
We will use the recommendations provided by the independent tax adviser in order to ensure that any facility we arrange fits in with that advice and that you obtain the correct product within the right structure.
Consider the following prior to looking into an offshore mortgage:
Check list...
- Do you consider yourself to be non-domiciled?

- Are you aware of the factors that HMRC uses to determine whether a person has a non domicile status?

- How many years have you been UK tax resident?
|
- If it is for more than 7 years do you need help in understanding the new rules?

- If it is for less than 17 years, have you considered any beneficial IHT planning?

- How are you funding the deposit?
|
- If you are bringing in money from overseas, are you aware that there may be tax implications?

If you fall into any of these categories, you may benefit from an offshore mortgage, subject to independent tax advice.
